These multi-layered mixed media paintings on wood panels begin with collage works such as scraps of collected papers from travels, gestural figure drawings, as well as prints from my sketchbooks and journals. I then layer paint, narrative, drawing marks, stencil patterns, more painting and collage and back and forth, back and forth between the image and the words until the story or painting is complete.
